Here's the latest

Wow it has been hectic around here. I had the cake order for Brice's 15th B-day party & my daughter's Baby Shower. It has been non-stop.

I wanted to share the cake I did for Brice. I also did cupcakes & cookies for her Girls Night Out.

It was very bright & shiny. lol I was afraid it was too crazy but she liked it.

The week before that I hosted Tarynn's "Rock Out" Baby Shower. It came out so cool. It fit her personality to a "T". Down to the very last detail. It truly represented her & her love for music. I am sure she will pass this on to her son. :)

I got the idea off of one my blogs that I read. This woman had thrown her hubby a Rock Star b-day party. I just took her cue & detailed it to Tarynn's personality.

Have you ever had one of those events where EVERYTHING falls into perfect place. This was mine. We had so much fun & everyone seemed to like the less than standard approach to the baby shower. hahaha Here's some of the food we had. We even had *Rockstar* drinks. lol

The only thing that did'nt turn out to my expectations was her cake. It ended up looking a lot like her b-day cake unfortunately. She LOVED it though so thats all that matters. The cupcakes totally rocked. LOL

These were some of the favors we made. I designed the popcorn boxes as a "Thank You" for coming. On the belly of the girl it says "Ready To Pop!" So stinkin cute. The candy bar wrappers we designed too. The little rocker ducks were given away with the candy bars for game prizes along with the chocolate chips, cookie recipe & star cookie cutters. There were gift cards as well.

As for my zebra print purse album, that I mentioned in the previous post. It is closer to being finished than it was, but not totally there yet. I finally got all the pages cut & assembled. I just have to decorate it. I'm making it for one of my hubby's co-workers. She is a hoot & I just love her. I'm also going to make her a cake with a tiara on the top & some bling bling around the bottom. It should be fun!
Well I will be back to share more later....Toodles

I'm Back

I am so sorry for the long break. Life just kind of takes over at times. Blogging just seems to get put on the back burner. I owe you all a months full of catch up. So I think I left off with Travis' B-day.

We had a great day full of special surprises for him. We started at 9 a.m. & didnt get home until about 9 p.m. It was all worth it. So lets get to the days events.

We headed down to the Alligator Farm first. It was pretty neat. They had a petting zoo that you go through first. That was kind of cool feeding the goats & such. You then proceed out to where they have the gators. They had all kinds of them. Unfortunately, now that the weather had gotten a little cooler they were'nt as active as they are in summer. We plan on going back next summer to really see them in action. Travis got to watch them feed. He also got a chance to pet one of the little gators. He was a little stand offish when it came to that. He even got a chance to talk to the owner who does all the feedings. The owner showed him his battle wounds from last year when a gator got his arm. Travis was pretty impressed with that. LOL

After the gator farm we headed to his all time favorite place....McDonalds. Yes life is'nt complete until you have McDonalds. I swear that child would live on chicken nuggets & fries if he could. Hahaha

Once we finished up lunch we headed back to Little Rock & took him to the movies to see Nine. It was'nt so bad for a kid movie. He loved it so thats all that mattered.

We then headed out to Toys R us & a few other stops. We decided to take him to a catfish buffet for dinner. This child loves seafood. We ended up choosing a restaurant that we had never been to. It was a cute lil place & he got his fill of shrimp & catfish.

For our final destination on the birthday extravaganza was a haunted maze called "Field Of Screams." He enjoyed it but in reality it really sucked. It had a lot of potential but they just did'nt have enough people to work it. This was his first experience with anything haunted. He loved it so we were happy. My pics didnt come out at the maze & I was so bummed. Hubby took this great pic of the moon though.

We went back to the house so he could open up his gifts. He was super excited to get the WII Resort game & some Jurassic Park dinos. He got a bunch of other things but those were his fav's.

Well, I have a lot to catch up on in here. I will be back tomorrow to share our Halloween pics.

Until then.....

Happy Birthday Travy True

I'm going to write this today knowing it wont publish until tomorrow 10/3/09.

October 3rd is my Travy's birthday. He is going to be 12 yrs old. It just seems
like yesterday that we were at the hospital having him. He had a rough start in life..many complications but you would never know that now. He is the happiest, kindest & funniest kid I know. Ok, so I am a little biased. No really he is a great kid. I personally have never seen
a child that is always happy. This child never has a bad day. He is always upbeat. Never cranky! Easy peasy when it comes to raising him....lol so far! I have truly been blessed. In honor of his 12th birthday I wanted to write twelve things about Travis.

1. He is so kind.
2. He is always happy.
3. He is a night owl like his mom. This child could go to sleep late & still get up with the birds.
4. He is a gaming addict. lol
5. He loves dinosaurs, aliens & at the present moment zombies.
6. He never stops talking. He always has a story to tell.
7. He is very athletic but isn't that into sports. We're hoping he plays basketball.
8. He completed his hunter's training course two yrs ago so he can go out with the big guys soon.
9. Loves to fish with his sister...they come by that naturally...their dad loved that too & he always took them when they were younger.
10. He has never purchased a lunch at school. He has always wanted to take his own from home.
11. He loves chips & popcorn. If he could survive on that he would. lol
12. Wants to be in the Army when he grows up like his big brother.

As for the big day, we gave him a choice of things to do. He decided on the Alligator Farm. So we will be off in the morning to go see the gators. We will do lunch & a movie in the afternoon. He wants to see the movie Nine. I'm not real excited about that but it's not my day! We are going to take him to a local place for dinner called the Catfish Barn. They have a huge selection of fried fish. Apparently when we came to Arkansas in May he discovered his love for catfish & shrimp. Needless to say, he will have his selection of all things fried tomorrow including frog legs. Hahaha After dinner we plan on surprising him with a haunted corn maze as the final destination. Hopefully he will love it. I will let y'all know how that turns out in the days to come. ;) You know I will be taking pictures like crazy...its what I do.

Until next time....~toodles

Another weekend

gone. It was a nice relaxing one. We had friends come over & play the WII. We have a bunch of addicts on our hands. It is so fun to watch people play. They are so animated & really get into it.

I made Sloppy Dawgs from the Rachel Ray show. Oh my gosh they were good & a big hit. So stinkin easy to make too. You have to go over & steal the recipe & try em out.

My girlfriend's horse got sick this last week & passed. She has been so upset over it. I decided to make her one of the little pop-up albums in memory of Montana. It came out so cute. She loved it. I didnt have a ton of pics so I really had to make do. I am in love with these albums. They make great gifts. One of these days I will sit long enough to write out instructions so I can share the ins & outs of them.

I went & got my hair cut. I dont think I have had my hair this short in a very long time, if ever. I am loving the ease of it. Not much up keep at all. Would like to get some chunky blonde put in it in the next week or two.

Next week is Travis' 12th birthday. Where does the time go? He has asked if we can go to the Alligator Farm. He is nuts about animals so it didnt seem like a crazy request coming from him. So we have a day of fun planned for Saturday. Alligator Farm, the movies, lunch & who knows what else. He is excited... so I am excited. Wait till you see the cupcakes that I am making for his get together on Sunday. They are great! Will share the pics next week & the link where to find them.

Well thats about it for me. Not a lot going on. Will be back to catch up. ~Toodles

Birthday Recap *Warning Lots Of Pics*

ll the birthday went off without a hitch. He had a great day at work. Our daughter got him a huge bouquet of balloons. His co-workers got him a very nice card & Best Buy gift card. Now what man wouldn't be happy with that? The chocolate cupcakes with mocha/caramel mousse filling were a hit. In fact, I got an order for a dozen this friday. I'm rather excited! He LOVED the fish tacos too. I have to say they were the best ones to date. I haven't cared for them lately but they were delish lastnight. The white sauce was to die for. *Ü* I have to share a few pics from lastnight. Our daughter Tarynn got him a pig snout as a gag gift. Now that we live in Arkansas she is determined to make him a "Hog". He is determined to fight her every step of the way. LOL She was going to buy him a shirt but feared he wouldn't wear it. She was probably right. So she decided to get him the snout. It was hilarious. He was a good sport & we got some great pics. It amazes Jim & I how dedicated the people are here about their Razorbacks....WOW! They have their cars plastered beyond recognition as well as decked out in all the garb on game days. I have never seen anything like it. Kind of like stepping into the Twilight Zone. Hahaha

I also wanted to share a few pics of the cards we made for him. Honestly they could of been better but I didn't feel well & was kind of crunched for time. Looking at the pics I can see all the flaws. I have vowed to do better next time. He didn't notice & that was good. :) My card (the black & white one) was an adaption from a tutorial here. It was fun to make & will probably do more. I didn't get a chance to read a lot of her blog but what I saw looks fun. I will be going over & catching a few more posts & craft ideas.

I better get going. I'm making Eggplant Parm from a girlfriend's recipe tonight. It is so good. I know my daughter will be hitting my door when she finds out. She loves it too! Have a great day. ~Toodles
