A Day At The Beach

Travis was invited to a birthday party at the beach this week. You know how in your busy life you sometimes get overwhelmed & dread having to fulfill obligations. I was kind of dreading the party thinking of all the things that I could be doing in that time frame. Well, I am so glad we went. I even got to drag the hubs with me (mind you he hates the beach....sand yuck!).

Surprisingly enough, we had the best day ever! It was a gorgeous day & the weather was perfect. Travis had a ball hanging out with his friends & boogie boarding the waves. That kid was gone as soon as his feet hit the sand. Hubs & I ended up sitting on the beach relaxing; enjoying good company, good roasted weinies & a wonderful bonfire . It was a blast!

We ended up seeing the most amazing sunset ever. I think its sweet how things turn out good when you take the time to smell the roses or in this case...the ocean. I will miss all the beauty that surrounds us here but look forward to new beauty & adventures living in the south.

The icing on the cake is getting to hang with my daughter again. Now if only I could get the Army to build a base in Arkansas & station my son there. Life would be perfect!

Enjoy your weekend & go out & find the beauty in your neck of the woods.

Overloaded

Does anyone else feel this way? I just can't seem to get a handle on prioritizing what needs to be done. It is driving me mad.

I am sure you have noticed how behind I am on my MITM (Monkey In The Middle) projects. ARGH!!!! I have had some orders come in which are GREATLY appreciated & welcomed but I feel like I am falling farther behind than what I want to be. LOL So with that, I want to apologize to you all for my tardiness in most of the things I have intended to do. I am hoping to have all my orders finished by tomorrow & mailed out. WOO HOO

As for my little contest that I want to run, I am hoping to have that prize finished for your viewing pleasure by Thursday. I will get all the details for that ready to post. I am super excited about the prize. It makes me smile *Ü*. So please check back this week for this upcoming event.
My Amish Friendship Bread is coming along nicely. Thank goodness I haven't managed to mess that up yet. Hahaha I am on day 5 today so I added my 1 cuppa of everything to the mix & smush, smush, smush. LOL How are all of yours doing? Carm did you get yours baked yesterday?

Easter went off without a hitch. Kind of a lazy day for us. We went to church & came home & had an indoor egg hunt for Travis. The snow we got a few days ago made it impossible to hide eggs outside. They are calling for more snow this week. So much for spring around here. LOL I added some pictures to my flickr if you want to take a peek. Jim worked all weekend so it was kind of quiet. Just me & the kids hanging at home. I hope all your Easter festivities were grand. A few of you shared what you had planned & it was fun hearing how everyone was spending their holiday. So I guess it is time to start planning Mother's Day right? ;)

I am so excited...I have to share. I am a confessed Blog junkie. I know I will be in a step program before long. Hahaha There are quite a few that I adore & visit often. While visiting Honey Girl Studio for my paper bag album fix, as well as altered art, I saw this ATC (Artist Trading Card) Happy Easter George & fell in love with it. It is so cute & whimsical. Well Tootie sent me an email saying I won the card. YIPPEE...I love this boys face. I am so excited to get it. Thank you Tootie! Go check out her work. It is so much fun! :)
Well I am going to get busy with that prize & get everything buttoned up here. Will be back soon to share & get this party started.

Have a wonderful day friends.

Halloween Party

Hey you guys....

Remember the party I was talking about having for my son's birthday? The Halloween/Birthday party combo with the neighbors? Well we had it last weekend & the kids loved it. They wore their costumes & we judged all of them. There was some great
ones. My son had his heart set on a grim reaper but at the last minute decided on an alien....go figure! Here he is....

I have to show you this cake I made for the party. My neighbor wanted something creepy. Well my hubby loves Halloween & has been collecting gore items for quite some time. Well my neighbor picked up these gummy mice & asked me to use them on the cake. I had an idea but wasn't sure how successful it would be. Had I had more time to plan it could of been out of this world. I was very excited to see the end result. The kids absolutely flipped over it so that made it all worth while. Now to think of something for next year thats bigger & better :)

It was so fun watching the kids bob for apples. Kids dont get to do those kinds of things anymore.

As for me I am tired & glad it's over for another year. We still have Halloween night but I enjoy going out with my son...he still gets excited over it. :) I am just hoping it warms up a bit. It has been in the mid 20's here & thats just too cold to walk around outside for candy. LOL I saw this in someone elses blog & loved it....gotta love Maxine!

My Apologies

Hi Everyone~

I have to apologize for being gone for so long. Life kind of took over & ran with me. LOL I never intended to go this long without posting. What a whirlwind it has been here the last few weeks.

For starters I had my Dad & Stepmom Debbie come for a visit. It was so nice to have them here in our new house (well new to us). ;) They haven't been up in 2 years. We had such a great visit. You have to love having your Daddy around. He was so helpful with a lot of my crafting & household things that needed done. I love my Dad because he hates to sit around & is always willing to help out with whatever needs to be done. We had a great visit!

Well, after my Dad & Debbie left my hubbies brother John & family arrived in town for hunting season. We had a nice visit with them as well. We moved up here with them 4 1/2 years ago & have never regretted it. I dont miss the hectic lifestyle of San Diego. It is so peaceful & beautiful here in Northern Idaho. Anyways, they had to move back to San Diego a year ago & they have been homesick ever since. We are hoping that they can get back up here in the next year.

After all that...... the fires started. I would say that almost all of my family & friends in San Diego have been affected by it. My Dad was evacuated as well as several friends. It has been pretty horrific, the damage it has done. You wouldn't think the fires would get that big after having a huge one 4 year ago. It is just heartbreaking to see the damage it has done. I feel so bad for those firefighters.....they have to be exhausted. Keep them all in your prayers please. :)

So, like I said, it has been a crazy few weeks. I am happy to say I am back to crafting like a mad woman. We are currently having the Prim Mart Online Holiday Craft Fair.

My friend Marissa is the BEST! She invited me to share her booth with her. You will have to come see all of our creations. :) Our booth is under Raggedy Cabin & Country Creek Creations.

I am also in another booth with all my friends from PCCF-Primitive & Country Crafting Friends.

We have a lot of fun items there as well. You can get so much holiday shopping done. I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner YIKES! Please try & stop by. I would love to hear what you think of our booths.

I better get back to work. I have some new dollies & ornies that I have been sewing up. I will share a peek at them. Hope all of you are having a wonderful week. Be safe. Talk to you soon. Toodles *Ü*

So Much Work

so little time!!!! It seems that the holiday season has kicked into full force. I have so much to do to get ready for the upcoming season & holiday shows. I have my first show in a month & am so not ready! Argh! I will be in & out until I get some stuff whipped up.

I am also trying to coordinate a Halloween/Birthday party for my son Travis' 10th birthday. We are trying to pull it off as a carnival theme. I am super excited about it!!! We are planning all kinds of games & contests. I want to try & get some of the props for the party built too. We have a cake walk planned along with bobbing for apples, fishing game, sandbag throw & costume contest! The kids are really looking forward to it. I will share pictures when it gets closer. What are some of your plans for Halloween? I am looking for suggestions for games & contests too. So email me!

I am not sure if I told you that my Dad & Stepmom are visiting from San Diego...but she brought her camera up to snap some pictures of my oldest son Taylor for his senior pictures. We went up to the Indian Mission here in town & took a few. They came out spectacular. It will be so hard to choose. I also had her snap some candid family ones. I think they came out cute for last minute planning. :)

Well I best get back to work.....will pop in soon to share completed projects. I have set a goal to get a few things done this week. Well a girl can dream cant she??? Hope your day is productive & fun! Until later.......
